The Founder: Rosie

I developed a passion for Marketing at university as a mature student over 7 years ago. Initially, I contemplated studying psychology, but was instantly captivated by a marketing lecturer's presentation. We discussed popular campaigns that resonated with me and sparked my interest in marketing.

My university education exposed me to various aspects of marketing, providing valuable insights and enabling practical application of the theory. Since graduating from university, I have gained experience in fast-paced environments, working in both B2C and B2B in-house roles.

My technical aptitude has proven invaluable in keeping up with technological advancements.

With a natural flair for business and experience as a marketing professional and a mother, I decided to establish my own marketing consultancy.

Strawberry Blonde Marketing was born. The name derived from my love of strawberries and was influenced by a special person in my life. The name seemed perfectly fitting and the brand was born.

When I’m not working I enjoy being with my daughter and husband, going out for long walks (with a pint in the pub afterwards), running, yoga, meditation, watching TV series and films, and listening to music.

Background of work

My journey began in customer service, where I gained invaluable insights into effectively engaging with customers. I quickly learned how to listen and clearly communicate, amplified by my positive attitude. With a clear mind, it enabled me to remain calm and composed, dealing with issues patiently. During sticky situations, I was able to analyse and find practical solutions efficiently.

Transitioning to a sales environment, provided me with the confidence to problem-solve and handle objections well. I built a wall of resistance and perseverance in pursuing potential leads and closing deals. I was able to understand customer's perspectives and demonstrate a concern for their needs.

Whilst studying at university I gained valuable experience working in events from the planning and organising to the end delivery, both in-person and online. I also worked in the students union part-time, which enabled me to deal with different people from diverse backgrounds. This developed my people skills and provided me with the self-belief and confidence which has arisen to this day. I believe I am a versatile professional with a broad range of skills.

I enjoy helping start-ups, SMBs, and especially female founders, meaning building a portfolio is really important. Doing this provides flexibility and a great work and life balance that fits in with my family and lifestyle commitments.
